A woman died and a man was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Penn Hills on July 8, 2019.

A woman who died when her SUV collided with a Hummer early Monday in Penn Hills has been identified.

Jewell Motley, 33, of Pittsburgh was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 5:15 a.m. at Saltsburg Road and Sycamore Drive, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office reported.

Allegheny County police are investigating the crash.

Police said Motley was driving east on Saltsburg Road near Sycamore Drive when her SUV crossed the center line and struck the Hummer, which was traveling west on Saltsburg Road. The driver of the Hummer, a 44-year-old man, was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Both were the only occupants of their vehicles.

Authorities closed Saltsburg Road from Almar Drive to Vincent Drive after the crash. It reopened later Monday morning.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
