North Hills DUI Task Force plans weekend checkpoints, patrols

The North Hills DUI Task Force, which comprises officers from a dozen communities, will be out looking for impaired drivers this weekend.

During the 17 years since the task force was organized, 221 check points and roving patrols that have been conducted, resulting in the arrest of 937 people for driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

The task force is made up of officers from Bradford Woods, Etna, Marshall, McCandless, Millvale, O’Hara, Pine, Richland , Ross, Shaler, West Deer and West View.
