Mon Incline's reopening stalled by brief power outage
Power was restored to the Mon Incline just before 9 a.m. Friday.
The incline had shut down around 6:35 a.m. due to a power failure, according to Port Authority of Allegheny County spokesman Adam Brandolph.
The Monongahela Incline had been shut down for more than three months for repairs. It reopened after those repairs Friday but closed about an hour later.
Brandolph said Port Authority was working with Duquesne Light to restore power during the shut down.
The power outage, caused by damage to a piece of equipment in the area, cut power to the incline and about 200 other customers, a Duquesne Light spokesperson said.
Fare boxes at the Monongahela Incline are experiencing some issues so we’re making it free for the rest of the day. Happy Friday from your friends at Port Authority! #Friyay pic.twitter.com/w1gKpqEcjT
