Man charged with Hill District murder arrested in Colorado

A man wanted for a Memorial Day shooting that killed one person and left another injured in Pittsburgh was arrested in Denver, Colo., according to a release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Jalaspian Charles, 32, of Pittsburgh, was arrested Monday. He was wanted for the May 27 shooting on Chauncey Drive in the city’s Hill District that killed Isaac Harrison, 34, and left a 15-year-old girl with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators at the time said a small fight turned into gunfire.

According to the release, the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force received information that Charles was in Denver. He was arrested without incident in the 700 block of East 20th Avenue by the U.S. Marshals Service Colorado Violent Offender Task Force.

Pittsburgh police charged him with criminal homicide, possession of a firearm, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.
