Kennywood Park announced Friday it will operate only five days a week through the remainder of the 2020 season.

The West Mifflin amusement park will be shut down Mondays and Tuesdays, Kennywood said via its social media.

“While we will continue to closely monitor attendance and limit capacity per state regulations, guests can feel comfortable visiting without having RSVP’ed in advance,” the park said via Twitter.

The park has been operating at reduced hours because of covid-19 safety precautions, with several rides not being shut down on a day-by-day basis, including Black Widow and the newest roller coaster, The Steel Curtain.

Other attractions such as the Sky Coaster, Noah’s Ark, Raging Rapids and Thomas Town Play Zone have been closed until further notice.

This season, Kennywood’s gates have been opening at 10:30 a.m., and rides, attractions and refreshment stands open progressively beginning at 11 a.m. The park has been setting its closing time at 7 p.m., although it has closed as early as 6 p.m. on some days.
