A Jefferson Hills man was killed in a tractor accident along Walters Lane on Wednesday evening.

Borough Police Chief Gene Roach identified the deceased as George Albert Walter, 67, of Walters Lane.

Officers responded to the area around 6:45 p.m. for a report of an overturned tractor on top of a man.

Police found a large farm tractor overturned over a steep hillside. Walter was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members told police Walter had not returned for dinner that evening and when they went looking they found him beneath the tractor.

Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office will rule on cause and manner of death, Roach reported.
