A Forest Hills man is facing three citations after police say he partially consumed food at a local Sheetz and then put the items back on the shelf.

Dorian Moore can be seen opening 12 containers at the Sheetz on William Penn Highway in Wilkins, eating and drinking some of the contents and then putting the items back in a video posted to Facebook on Thanksgiving day, Wilkins police Chief Harry Fruecht said. Fruecht said the video was titled “Free Food 101.”

Moore has since apologized for his actions, Fruecht said.

“We’re aware of the supposed apology that was given out, but you’ve got to admit it’s easy to do that once you’ve made a fool of yourself,” Fruecht told the Trib on Friday.

According to police, Moore was issued three citations, including criminal mischief, retail theft and disorderly conduct.

“We are aware of the incident at the Sheetz on William Penn Highway,” Nick Ruffner, Sheetz spokesperson, said. “Sheetz’s top priority is the health and well-being of our customers and employees, which includes ensuring the safety and integrity of the food and beverages we serve. All food and beverages opened by the perpetrator were disposed of immediately. Furthermore, Sheetz is fully cooperating with the Wilkins Township Police department, who will determine charges in this matter.”
