Edgewood residents are encouraged to display paper Easter eggs around their homes for passersby to “hunt.”

With Peter Cottontail likely under stay-at-home orders just like everyone else, people in Edgewood Borough are planning their own Easter egg hunting fun.

Neighbors are being encouraged to decorate paper eggs and place them in windows, on doors or in other places where passersby can see them.

Eggs can go up on Saturday and be left in place through the week, leading up to Easter on April 12, so all residents have a chance to search for them as they walk through the neighborhood.

“This event is for all ages, and we welcome our neighboring communities to participate,” according to the Edgewood Borough Community Events Facebook page.

Egg hunters are asked to follow all CDC social distancing recommendations.

The Facebook page also contains a link to a website with free printable egg templates in various sizes to help residents create their paper eggs.
