Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire is shifting manpower and resources to other parts of the city while its East Liberty fire station undergoes repairs.
Authorities said the station at 161 N. Euclid Ave. will be temporarily closed starting Thursday so crews can address a structural issue in its hose tower. No completion date was announced.
The shifts are as follows:
- Battalion 3 will move to Fire Station 7 in Stanton Heights, 4603 Stanton Ave.
- 8 Truck will be housed at 18 Engine in Squirrel Hill, 5858 Northumberland St.
- 8 Engine will shift to 15 Engine in Lincoln-Larimer, 7024 Lemington Ave.
Fire officials said an additional truck will be housed at the Stanton Heights station to ensure seamless service. The personnel and vehicle moves are also designed to help the neighborhoods not be overburdened.
