Crime Stoppers offers reward for information on Armani Ford shooting
A reward is being offered to anyone with information about a shooting that killed a former Clairton High School football star in April.
At about 6 p.m., April 26, police found Armani Ford, 23, face down in the rear yard of 810 Vankirk Street in Clairton. He was shot in the chest and died at the scene.
Clairton Police were dispatched to the area of Vankirk Street for a report of a man being shot, a Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers news release said Thursday.
When officers arrived, they discovered a grey Nissan SUV sitting on Apricot Way behind 810 Vankirk St. The car’s engine was running, and the passenger side door was open, the release said. There was a bullet hole in the windshield that appeared to show that there was a gunshot fired through the window from the inside of the car to the outside.
Anyone with information concerning the investigation is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of any individuals responsible for this homicide.
Callers may remain anonymous.
Ford was a quarterback at Clairton High during the program’s 63-game winning streak. The Bears won four straight PIAA championships during his tenure, the last being the 2012 season.
He played on the same Clairton team as Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd.
