A suspected drug dealer rammed his car into two police vehicles as he tried to escape arrest Tuesday, according to Pittsburgh police.
Edwin Wylie-Biggs, 38, of Jeannette was wanted on a warrant for allegedly assaulting a woman, police said.
Several undercover police cars surrounded Wylie-Biggs’ car on Merritt Avenue near Windfall Way in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood around 12:30 p.m.
Officers identified themselves as police and ordered Wylie Biggs out of his car, police said.
Instead, Wylie-Biggs rammed two of the cars and attempted to drive onto the sidewalk to escape, police said.
A police officer rammed his vehicle into the back of Wylie-Bigg’s car to stop his escape, police said.
Police broke Wylie-Biggs’ rear passenger-side window. That’s when Wylie-Biggs stopped attempting to escape and allowed officers to arrest him, police said.
Nobody was hurt.
Police said they recovered multiple bundles of heroin and cash.
Wylie-Biggs is charged with flight to avoid apprehension, recklessly endangering another person and multiple drug charges. He’s out of jail on $5,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing before Judge Kim Berkeley Clark is scheduled for Monday.
