Police: Burglar enters Pittsburgh Islamic Center, changes clothes
Pittsburgh police responded to a burglary in progress shortly after midnight at the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh on Bigelow Boulevard.
Police said key holders to the center alerted police after remotely viewing a man walking through the building on a surveillance camera.
Before officers arrived, they were told that the man was seen leaving the building.
He was described as wearing a baseball cap, dark T-shirt and red shorts.
Police searched the area but did not find the man. The center’s office managers said nothing appeared to have been taken.
Surveillance footage shows the man entering through a front door and walking through the main prayer room. He dug through a donation box, and leaves wearing tan or white shorts.
Police believe the man changed clothes from clothing the center keeps for homeless people.
There was no sign of forced entry, police said.
Police were continuing to investigate.
