Allegheny County reports 86 new coronavirus cases

Allegheny County on Sunday recorded 86 new coronavirus cases with no new deaths.

The county’s total number of cases stands at 9,903 with 6,779 recoveries. According to the Allegheny County Health Department’s covid-19 dashboard, 143,484 individuals have tested for the virus. The county has an overall 7% positive test result rate.

Out of Sunday’s cases, 83 are confirmed and three are probable. New cases range in age from 2 to 96 years old with a median age of 50. The date of positive tests ranged from July 31 to Aug. 22.

There were three hospitalizations added on Sunday. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, there are currently 86 Allegheny County residents in the hospital for the virus, with 20 of them on ventilators. In all, 925 people have been hospitalized for covid-19 in the county.

The county’s total number of deaths stands at 306.

Allegheny County’s seven-day average of new covid-19 cases is 67 as of Sunday.

Recent reports of new cases have been generally trending downward.

Since the start of August, the county has only seen four days of triple-digit case counts, while in July all but two days had more than 100 cases.
