Allegheny County launches flu shot clinic Monday
The Allegheny County Health Department will launch a walk-in flu shot clinic at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30 at 425 First Ave. in Pittsburgh.
Officials said patients can enter the Immunization Clinic via Cherry Way and proceed to the fourth floor.
It is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., except on Wednesdays, when the clinic’s hours are 1 to 8 p.m.
No appointment is necessary.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control recommends an annual flu vaccine for everyone six months of age and older.
The price of a regular flu shot for Allegheny County residents is $34. The department will offer the high-dose influenza vaccine for people 65 and older for $59.
A Health Department spokesman said residents should check with their insurance provider in advance to determine whether the shots are covered.
