No serious injuries were reported after a fight broke out among a half dozen inmates at the Allegheny County Jail on Wednesday afternoon.

In a statement released Thursday, Warden Orlando Harper said the fight happened around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.

“Six inmates received misconducts as a result of fighting,” Harper said in the statement. “There were no injuries of inmates or officers that resulted in the hospitalization or transport of an inmate for care.”

County police will investigate and pursue criminal charges, if warranted.

“On a daily basis there are any number of non-routine occurrences at the Allegheny County Jail,” Harper said in the statement. “We are not going to begin providing detail on every single one of them.”
