Three young men are listed in critical condition after being shot Tuesday evening in Mt. Oliver.

Allegheny County police were dispatched to the 100 block of Stamm Avenue for a man who had been shot around 6:30 p.m. Officers and paramedics discovered a 20-year-old man shot in the head.

Authorities said another victim, a 23-year-old man, was found along the 1700 block of Arlington Avenue shot in his arm and side. A third victim, 19,, was found shot in the neck along the 100 block of Locust Street.

All three were taken to area hospitals in critical condition.

Detectives said they learned the three men were standing in front of a residence along Stamm Avenue when a black man in black clothing approached them and fired a handgun multiple times. The suspect fled toward Brownsville Road in an older, red pickup truck, police said.

A resident told Trib news partner WPXI that he was playing with his 4-year-old daughter in his backyard when he heard at least eight gunshots.

Allegheny County police are investigating. No further information was immediately available.

Anyone with information about the shooting can call the police tip line at 833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.

The department can also be reached via its social media sites.
