A second Port Authority of Allegheny County bus driver has tested positive for coronavirus, officials announced Saturday.
The driver, who works out of the West Mifflin garage, has been self-quarantining since April 1, according to spokesman Adam Brandolph. The driver has not worked since March 21. No other information was given about the identity of the driver.
A maintenance crew performed a deep cleaning of the West Mifflin garage and the last bus the driver had operated, Brandolph said.
Port Authority’s first positive case was announced March 26. The organization believed that bus driver contracted covid-19 after being exposed outside of their job.
Allegheny County reported its third coronavirus-related death Saturday and now has seen 552 cases.
Pennsylvania cases surpassed 10,000 Saturday, and state officials reported 34 new deaths, bringing the total to 136.
