Police detained two juveniles in connection with a shooting in McKees Rocks on Thursday.

A man was shot in the chest shortly after 11:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Bouquet Street, according to Allegheny County police.

McKees Rocks police went to the area to investigate 911 calls about a shooting. They found ballistic evidence but no victim. Witnesses told police they saw a red SUV flee the area at the time of the shooting.

Around the same time police were at the scene, a man who had been shot in the chest arrived at a local hospital. Police learned that he arrived in a red Dodge Durango SUV. Two juveniles were reportedly in the SUV.

Allegheny County police detectives said it appears the SUV was involved in the shooting on Bouquet Street. The juveniles were detained, but police did not say why or how they were involved.

Police did not identify the man shot nor the juveniles detained.

Anyone with information concerning the shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous. Police can also be reached via their social media sites.
