A 24-year-old Duquesne man was shot twice in the head early Wednesday after a night of drinking at the Hill District home of the man accused of killing him, according to Pittsburgh police.
Trevon Adams died from two gunshot wounds, one of which severed his carotid artery, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office determined, according to a criminal complaint.
Londell Jackson, 25, is charged with homicide and a gun violation in connection with the incident.
When Pittsburgh police arrived at the home, Jackson was sitting on the edge of the sidewalk with a Taurus .380-caliber handgun taken apart in pieces in the street in front of him, police said.
Jackson told police he was attacked by Adams.
Police found Adams dead in the kitchen, along with two spent .380 shell casings. There was a bullet hole in the kitchen wall, police said in the complaint.
There was no sign of a struggle in the kitchen and Jackson didn’t appear to be involved in one and had no injuries.
A witness who was in the home at the time but not in the kitchen told police that Jackson and two other men had been drinking throughout the night and an argument ensued.
The witness heard no signs of a struggle, but heard the gunshots and police arrived about 20 minutes later, according to the complaint.
Jackson also was wanted on a warrant from West Homestead on theft charges, according to police.
He was being held in Allegheny County Jail.
