Students in Pine-Richland School District returned to classes and started a new school year on Aug. 25.

Superintendent Dr. Brian Miller said that the energy and excitement on the first day of school is second only to that of graduation.

“We are focused on strengthening the positive culture of our schools as we focus on our mission,” Miller said.

“The relationships that develop between students, staff and families are the foundation for the culture. We want our schools and community to be a place where students are proud to learn, parents are proud to live, and staff are proud to work.

“So much work occurs during the summer to prepare our buildings, buses and cafeteria for the first day of school.

There is nothing better than seeing the smiles on the faces of students and staff as we get started.”
