To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Northern Tier Library is playing matchmaker! Going on a blind date is a lot like opening a new book: You never know what kind of experience you’re going to have. Call or stop by the library to select your “date” from the display of wrapped books, check one out and unwrap it when you get home. Hopefully, it’s love at first sight!
Knit Lit
Do you knit, crochet, or craft in any way? If not, would you like to learn? Knit Lit will be meeting online via Zoom at 6 p.m. Feb. 25. Beginners are invited to come and learn; experienced crafters are invited to bring a project to work on. Everyone is encouraged to bring their latest read to talk about. Registration is required to receive the Zoom meeting invitation link.
Winter Reading Challenge
Grab a cup of hot chocolate and challenge yourself to read some good books during the cold of winter. Libraries across Allegheny County are participating in the Winter Reading Challenge 2021. The challenge will end Feb. 28. Log the books you read and activities you complete through Beanstack to earn points for chances to win a prize. Beanstack can be accessed through carnegielibrary.beanstack.org or can be downloaded as an app on your device. If you registered for Beanstack during the Summer Learning Program, you can use the same login information. Please check out the website to learn more.
