Private tours
Blessed Francis Seelos Academy in Wexford is a preschool through eighth-grade Catholic school offering a challenging curriculum while integrating the teachings of Christ. The K-8 campus will be open for private tours 1-3 p.m. Jan. 31. Reservations are required and can be made online at www.seelosacademy.org.
Preschool tours are currently offered by appointment only. An open house will be held at a later date.
Virtual production of ‘Spring Awakening’
Kaylee Moskala of Wexford, a graduate of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School majoring in theatre design and technical studies, was a member of the costume construction crew of “Spring Awakening” at Baldwin Wallace University. Under the direction of Victoria Bussert, students created the first collegiate virtual production of the powerful Broadway rock musical.
The groundbreaking show, shot guerrilla film-style on iPhones at more than 40 locations throughout Northeast Ohio, premiered Nov. 19-22 and was profiled in “American Theatre” magazine and “The New York Times.” Due to demand, a second set of performances streamed Dec. 17-20.
Graduated Clarion University
Three students from Wexford graduated from Clarion University in December.
Sherri Fello graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in allied health leadership.
Stephanie Stevens graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in psychology.
Lindze Trombola graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in nursing.
Army ROTC assignment
Senior cadets from Slippery Rock University’s U.S. Army ROTC program recently received their branch assignments, meaning that their next step after leaving SRU has been determined. Timothy Nicotra, a 2020 graduate of Slippery Rock University from Gibsonia with a degree in secondary education-social studies/history, has been assigned to National Guard, Field Artillery.
Trib Total Media offers pair of scholarships
Trib Total Media is accepting applications for both the Scholarship for Diversity in Media and the Jim Borden Memorial Scholarship.
The Scholarship for Diversity in Media is open to high school seniors who are culturally, ethnically or racially diverse and are planning to study journalism, communication or English writing at a four-year college or university. The scholarship will include financial assistance of up to $7,500 per year for four years, a guaranteed annual internship with Trib Total Media and an offer for full-time employment upon graduation.
The Jim Borden Memorial Scholarship is offered to high school or college students attending — or planning to attend — a four-year college or university to study journalism, English writing or communication. The recipient will earn up to $30,000 in scholarship money awarded in annual installments of up to $7,500, an annual internship with Trib Total Media and an offer for full-time employment upon graduation.
