Level Green plans Light Up Night

Santa Claus will arrive on a fire truck during the Light Up Level Green event from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Level Green Fire Hall along Route 130 in Penn Township.

The Penn Trafford Community Band will play holiday favorites and children will be able to enjoy crafts, cookies, hot chocolate and cider. Gingerbread houses will be the featured craft.

A Christmas tree will be lit and children are encouraged to bring a letter to Santa. The North Pole mailbox will be on site. Parents are reminded to include a return address if they would like Santa to respond to their child’s letter.

The Community Women’s Club of Level Green along with the Lion’s Club and fire department are sponsoring the event.

The Trafford Middle School students raised $1,321 for the Westmoreland County Food Bank in Salem.

Students raised the money by bringing in their spare change in a Turkey Cup Challenge before Thanksgiving.
