42 new covid cases reported in Penn-Trafford area between April 19-26, 2021

New covid-19 cases reported in the Penn-Trafford-Jeannette area decreased over the past week compared to the week prior, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

In all, 42 new covid cases were reported between April 19-26 for the six ZIP codes covering most of the three communities. That’s compared to the 54 new cases reported between April 13-19. Since the pandemic began, the six ZIP codes have seen a total of 2,030 positive covid-19 cases.

As of April 26, there were 1,053 confirmed coronavirus cases, up by 15 since April 19, in the Jeannette 15644 ZIP code, which covers part of Penn Township. There have been 627 probable cases and 4,846 coronavirus tests with negative results.

In the 15085 ZIP code, which encompasses Trafford and part of North Huntingdon, the state found 512 cases as of April 26, an increase of 16 since April 19. There were 222 probable cases in the ZIP code and 2,029 negative test results.

In the Harrison City 15636 ZIP code, there were 257 confirmed cases as of April 26, an increase of seven cases since April 19. There were 147 probable cases and 987 negative results.

In the 15665 ZIP code for Manor, there were 102 confirmed cases, an increase of one case since April 19. There were 64 probable cases and 357 negative results.

In the Penn Borough 15675 ZIP code, there were 55 confirmed cases as of April 26, an increase of one case since April 19. There were 36 probable cases and 241 negative results.

The Claridge 15623 ZIP code had 51 confirmed cases, an increase of two cases since April 19. There were 22 probable cases and 242 negative test results.

A significant portion of Penn Township is grouped under the Irwin 15642 ZIP code. That ZIP code has seen a total of 3,049 confirmed cases, up by 47 since April 19.

Penn-Trafford School District reported a total of 181 covid cases since the school year began, with six active cases as of April 26.

Westmoreland County has had a total of 21,920 confirmed cases, 10,332 probable cases, 736 deaths and 95,075 negative tests since the start of the pandemic.
