A Penn Hills man accused of shooting two people in McKees Rocks on May 29 was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Plum, Allegheny County Police said.
The suspect, Taelaun Claybourne, 21, as taken into custody in the 500 block of Unity-Trestle Road in Plum around 3 p.m.
Police are accusing Claybourne of shooting two people in the 20 block of Locust Street in the Hays Manor Housing Complex shortly before 5 a.m. May 29, police said. The victims survived.
Claybourne had run from authorities on July 15 as they tried to arrest him in the area of Broadway Avenue in McKees Rocks.
A warrant was obtained for Claybourne’s arrest, charging him with multiple counts of criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and firearms related offenses. Claybourne is a felon not permitted to possess a firearm.
Claybourne was to be taken to the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh to be arraigned.
Participating in the arrest were officers with the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, federal marshals, and Plum police, according to the county police said.
