Man fatally shot in Pittsburgh’s East Hills

Pittsburgh police continue to investigate a fatal shooting Tuesday night in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of East Hills.

Zone 5 officers responded to the 2200 block of Wilner Drive around 7 p.m. for a report of a man who’d been shot.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 30-year-old James R. Jeffries.

They located Jeffries on the first level of a Wilner Drive home. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Additional information was not immediately available. The department’s mobile crime unit and homicide detectives are investigating.

Police did not have a description of a suspect.
