A Monroeville man was hospitalized after being shot three times in Penn Hills on Thursday night.

Police Chief Howard Burton said the shooting took place around 11:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a Sunoco gas station along Rodi Road.

Two men had apparently got into an argument inside nearby Broadway’s Sports Bar & Grill and were told to leave.

Both men ended up at the gas station, where the fight continued with one man brandishing a firearm and shooting the other, Burton said.

Burton said the victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was shot in the left leg and groin.

Police described the suspect as a heavy-set black man. No further information about the suspect of vehicle description was given.

Anyone with information about the shooting can call Penn Hills police at 412-342-1188.
