A man is recovering in a hospital after being shot three times in Penn Hills on Tuesday.

Police Chief Howard Burton said the victim, a white man in his 20s, made his way to the GetGo gas station near Frankstown and Coal Hollow roads around 3 p.m.

He was shot in each arm and in the chest. EMS transported him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the chief said.

Burton said the man told police that he and three to five light-skinned black men were involved in a “drug deal gone bad” along a dead end street in Penn Hills. He said the suspects were in a white vehicle.

Officers found a vehicle matching the description along Sampson Street and gave chase, Burton reported.

Two men fled from the vehicle after it crashed several streets away.

Burton said they both were apprehended, and the driver will be charged with fleeing/eluding police.

No further information was released. The investigation is ongoing. GetGo remained open Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact Penn Hills police at 412-342-1188.
