Police: 20-year-old killed in Penn Hills shooting
One person was killed in a shooting in Penn Hills early Friday, according to Allegheny County Police.
Police said officers responded to a reported shooting in the 200 block of Curtis Street shortly after 12:10 a.m. Police said they found multiple people assisting 20-year-old Deondre Stewart, who had been shot. Stewart was taken to an area hospital, where he died, officials said.
Detectives from the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit said the Stewart, along with two other people, attended a Halloween party on Curtis Street. Officers said the vehicle was abandoned. Detectives are working to determine who was driving the vehicle.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
