Penn Hills, Verona seeing somewhat slower rise of covid-19 cases
As coronavirus cases are beginning to rise more slowly in Allegheny County and across the country, Penn Hills and Verona seem to be following that trend.
As of Jan. 20, there have been 2,108 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Penn Hills since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. A total of 47 deaths have been reported, and 11,135 tests have been administered to Penn Hills residents. The case rate in Penn Hills is 498 per 10,000 residents.
Since the pandemic began, Verona has had 105 cases. One death has been reported, and 646 tests have been administered to Verona residents. The case rate in Verona is 424 per 10,000 residents.
