The East Suburban Artists League will present its 40th Annual Members Show at CCAC’s Boyce Campus in Monroeville starting Aug. 12.

The show will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Aug. 12 through Sept. 6, at the college’s main entrance.

There will be a free, public opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 10 where awards for Best of Show, judge’s awards and mentions will be presented to artists for their work.

ESAL artists have chosen their entries for the show, which range in oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel paintings, photography, drawings in ink and pencil, crafts, mixed media, among others.

Some artwork will be available for sale.

Linda Galati, CCAC’s coordinator for the art show, said there is no additional time left for artists to enter their pieces.

“(The show) was getting so big that it was becoming impossible to hang them all. And the space is not growing, we’re still small,” she said, adding organizers decided to limit artists this year for the first time to one piece per entrant.

Ann McCartney, an artist based in South Hills, will be this year’s judge for the show. She teaches oil painting privately and for the Primary Colors Art Guild at LifeSpace in Dormont. McCartney is also a member of the Upper St. Clair Art League and is Art Curator for the South Hills Jewish Community Center.

ESAL is a group made of artists from communities in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties. It meets monthly in Murrysville from September to November and from February to May.

For more information on the show at CCAC Boyce, contact Linda Galati, the show’s coordinator at 412-956-2034 or email her at lingalati@windstream.net.
