A man who was fatally shot in Penn Hills last month has been identified as a 31-year-old resident of Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday publicly identified the victim as Austin Lamont Turner.

He was found by police on July 7 in the 11000 block of Frankstown Road around 6 p.m.

Investigators believe Turner was shot after arguing with the owners of a business near Frankstown and Duff roads.

Turner died at an area hospital about 40 minutes after the shooting was reported, authorities said. His family did not return phone calls Monday seeking comment.

A day before Turner was shot, another fatal shooting occurred nearby in the 10000 block of Frankstown Road.

On July 6, a woman was killed there and a second person injured.

The medical examiner’s office identified that victim as Ojanay Pride, 26, of Pittsburgh’s West Oakland neighborhood.

Allegheny County Police continue to investigate the two shootings, spokesman Jim Madalinsky told TribLive Monday. The medical examiner ruled both as homicides.

No arrests have been made in either death, as of Monday, Madalinsky said. The shootings do not appear related, he added.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 833-ALL-TIPS (833-255-8477). Anonymous calls will be accepted.
