A Washington County man was killed early Saturday morning as he walked along Route 22 in North Fayette Township, police said.

State police reported that Daniel Grennell, 35, of Langeloth, was struck by a pickup truck at 12:48 a.m. as it drove eastbound on an overpass above Old Steubenvelle Pike.

Police said Grennell walked into the right lane of traffic on a section of dark and wet roadway when he was hit by the truck.

The pickup truck’s driver was not injured.

No charges have been filed.
