Part of Route 8 in Shaler reopened after car crashes into pole
Part of Route 8 in Shaler reopened after a car sheered a pole late Tuesday night, according to Tribune-Review news partners WPXI-TV.
The vehicle crashed into the pole around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday in front of Shaler Plaza, causing both northbound lanes and one southbound lane to close between Grant Avenue and Saxonburg Boulevard. The lanes remained closed through Wednesday morning after part of the pole was left dangling. Another piece was sitting in the middle of the road.
According to Duquesne Light, almost 50 people were without power early Wednesday morning. As of 8:20 a.m., four customers were still impacted.
No injuries were reported.
