Allegheny County Police on Friday revealed the identity of human remains found in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood.

The remains were identified as Kaylene Oehling of Etna, who went missing in early 2020.

Her remains were found Sunday by hunters in a wooded area near the 1200 block of Washington Boulevard, officials said.

County police on Friday said the Etna Police Department in June 2020 requested their assistance with an investigation into the disappearance of 20-year-old Oehling. Her mother had reported her missing on Jan. 12, 2020.

Oehling was last seen at a friend’s house in Millvale the prior evening. She left the friend’s house to meet someone but did not return.

On Jan. 10 that year, she was expected to be at her mother’s house to babysit. She did not show up, and her mother couldn’t reach her by phone.

Detectives with the Allegheny County Police Department are continuing the investigation into her death. Detectives are working with the medical examiner to determine a cause and manner of death.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Allegheny County Police at 1-833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous. The department also can be reached through its social media sites.
