An Irwin store owner is betting that she can fill a niche in the market for clothing for plus-size women’s store.

Stacey Larkin of North Huntingdon, recently opened her store, She’s All That & More at 606 Oak St. in downtown Irwin.

“It’s a boutique without the boutique prices. It’s affordable prices,” Larkin said.

Larkin said she and daughter, Stephanie Kimmell, had talked about opening a clothing store in Irwin for plus-size women.

“We totally loved the idea. There’s not enough stores that cater to the plus-size woman,” said Larkin, who operates the store with her daughter.

The store also features clothes for babies and various accessories such as jewelry, shawls, scarfs, purses and vases.

“I like to think we have something for everyone here,” Larkin said.

Larkin said she purchases her inventory, which runs in size from 14 to 5X, from different

Larkin’s store is among the 87% of small businesses that start out with four or less employees, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration. The challenge is then maintaining the operation, because after the first year, that percentage drops to 67%. By five years in business, only 61% of small businesses are still operating with four or less employees, based on SBA stats.

Larkin and her husband, Scott, returned to their home area in August 2022 after living in the Tampa Bay area.

“We retired back home,” said Larkin, who also is a real estate agent for a Pittsburgh area firm.

In converting the space to a retail store with clothing and accessories spread over five rooms, Larkin said she was helped by her husband, who is a master electrician.
