Two upcoming projects in the North Hills are expected to cause traffic delays for motorists.
PennDOT’s project to upgrade traffic signals along Route 910 in Marshall Township will take place June 6-8 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Crews from M and B Services will be working on traffic controllers for the adaptive traffic signal project.
Single-lane restrictions will be in place along Route 910 at the following locations:
Sunday, June 6
• Northbound I-79 on and off ramps
• Brandt School Road/VIP Drive
Monday, June 7
• Mingo Road
• Brandt School Road
• Franklin Village Drive
Tuesday, June 8
• Southbound I-79 on and off ramps
• Nicholson Road
North Park paving
Allegheny County Public Works crews are scheduled to begin a seven-month-long project to repave Pearce Mill Road in McCandless on June 14.
Work will start at 7 a.m. between Babcock Boulevard and Tennis Court Road. The project involves widening the road, installing additional bicycle and pedestrian lanes inside North Park, slope and drainage improvements and milling and paving.
Between June 14 and 16, motorists will encounter brief stoppages in work zones, which will be controlled by flaggers.
From June 17 through November, there will be single-lane closures. Northbound traffic will be detoured using Babcock Boulevard and Wildwood, East Ingomar, Kummer, McKinney and Brown roads.
Southbound traffic and vehicle access to all side roads and driveways will be maintained.
Once the major portion of the project is completed in November, short stoppages will resume for paving, line painting and other miscellaneous construction.
Pedestrians will have access to Pearce Mill Road at all times during construction.
The $2 million project was awarded to Michael Facchiano Contracting Inc. The county is using a state grant to pay for the work.
