North Hills High School hires new assistant principal
A new assistant principal will greet students at North Hills High School this year.
Meghan Watelet will begin her post in mid-September.
Watelet previously served as assistant principal at Chartiers Valley High School since 2020.
“We are excited to welcome Meghan who brings valuable experience to our high school and our district having served as both a special and general education teacher as well as school counselor,” Superintendent Patrick Mannarino said.
“Her added leadership with school-wide programs and initiatives and active involvement with student clubs and organizations makes her the ideal choice to join our administration team.”
North Hills students begin classes Wednesday.
Watelet takes the place of Hanna Mincemoyer, who has served as one of two assistant high school principals since 2019.
Watelet earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington & Jefferson College and a master’s from Duquesne University. Her principal’s certification is from the University of Pittsburgh.
She started her career at Franklin Regional Middle School as an English learning support teacher and later worked at Knoch High School.
She also worked as an English teacher at Canon-McMillan High School.
At Chartiers Valley, Watelet supervised student clubs and served as coordinator the school’s Student Assistance Program (SAP), No Place for Hate and positive behavior support system.
