As coronavirus cases begin to rise more slowly in Allegheny County and across the country, communities in the North Hills are also seeing their numbers rise less sharply.

As of Feb. 3, there have been 1,994 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Ross Township since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. Seventy-five deaths have been reported, and 9,828 tests have been administered to Ross residents.

In that same timeframe, McCandless has reported 1,457 cases and 78 deaths; Franklin Park has reported 734 cases and 15 deaths; Bellevue has reported 399 cases and seven deaths, Ohio Township has reported 376 cases and three deaths; Marshall has reported 366 cases and one death; West View has reported 324 cases and one death; and Bradford Woods has reported 56 cases and no deaths.

Based on population, Ohio Twp. has the highest case rate of all of the North Journal’s communities at 790 per 10,000 residents.
