Marshall Township has canceled the annual Community Day celebration typically held in late August to help slow the spread of coronavirus.

“Who we are as a community is so much more than can be captured in a one-day event,” township officials wrote in a news release announcing the cancellation. “The past few months have created new ways of being good neighbors. Our community is defined by the way we have come together during these challenges; the way we made masks for our older residents, donated to those in need, checked in on one another and took care of our larger community.”

Township officials said the popular event will be reinstated in 2021.
