Latest coronavirus numbers for North Hills communities
As coronavirus cases continue to surge in Allegheny County and across the country, communities in the North Hills vary on the number of cases, case rates and deaths due to the virus.
As of Jan. 13, there have been 1,766 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Ross Township since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. Sixty-seven deaths have been reported, and 9,028 tests have been administered to Ross residents.
In that same timeframe, McCandless has reported 1,301 cases and 58 deaths; Franklin Park has reported 625 cases and 15 deaths; Bellevue has reported 367 cases and two deaths, Ohio Township has reported 339 cases and two deaths; Marshall has reported 308 cases and one death; West View has reported 274 cases and one death; and Bradford Woods has reported 52 cases and no deaths.
Based on population, Ohio Twp. has the highest case rate of all of the North Journal’s communities at 713 per 10,000 residents.
