Twilight Night returns
Twilight Night has been a North Hills tradition for the last several years and was sorely missed in 2021 as schools were still virtual. But this year, Memorial Park Church welcomes student performers back to the stage for the return of Twilight Night: A Starry Preview of High School Musicals. Jim Lueers, Memorial Park Church’s Minister of Worship and Arts is thrilled to welcome back this much-loved tradition of hosting high school musical performers from North Hills area schools for a sneak peek of their spring musicals. The show lasts across two nights — Feb. 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. — when students from schools throughout the North Hills will put on an exciting showcase, offering the community a chance to preview the talented performers who will grace the stage this spring. Throughout the evening, a give-what-you-can donation will be collected benefiting North Hills Community Outreach, which provides food and financial help to those most in need in northern Allegheny County communities.
This year’s event will be masks required, apart from optional masking for the performers while on stage. More information on the evening’s events will be available on the Memorial Park Church website in coming weeks at mpcepc.org/Twilight-Night or by calling Jim Lueers at 412-364-9492 ext. 118.
Hampton Presbyterian Church
Help Hampton Presbyterian Church’s Youth raise money for their mission trips while enjoying a fun-filled evening. Join us in Fellowship Hall from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 6 for Olympic Trivia Night. Please sign-up your team at the information desk and save the date. Tables are $75 per table for up to eight people. Snacks and beverages will be provided. The church is located at 2942 E. High school reunion
North Hills High School’s class of 1976 will hold its 46-year reunion July 22 at the Rivers Casino. The event will include a cocktail hour with open bar, buffet dinner with cash bar, dancing and more. Cost is $76 per person if the reservation is made by April 1, and after that it is $85 per person. Rotary scholarships
The Bob Williams Rotary Memorial Scholarship Program is accepting applications for the 2021-22 academic year.
In recent years, the program has awarded at least eight scholarships at $5,000 each. High school seniors are eligible to apply as are vocational students, G.E.D students and those attending parochial, charter and private schools.
Students must have a 2.5 or higher grade point average and must complete an essay, which highlights their community/school service, as part of the application process.
