The Bradford Woods Conservancy’s speaker series will feature a program by an expert in plant diseases and pest management at 7 p.m. on April 17.
Matthew Kasson, an assistant professor of Forest Pathology at West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va., will present a program on the link between the introduction of the invasive “Tree-of-Heaven” plant to the United States more than 200 years ago and the current problems caused by the Spotted Lanternfly, which is attracted to Tree-of-Heaven.
Kasson has a doctorate in Plant Pathology from the Pennsylvania State University as well as undergraduate degrees from Paul Smith’s College in New York and the University of Maine.
The free program will be held at the Bradford Woods Borough Hall, 4908 Wexford Run Road.
