A local medical practice that was launched 11 years ago when its founder became frustrated with traditional medicine will conduct a free hour-long session at The Block Northway on Saturday about how hormones affect overall health.

The program, which runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the CoreLife Eatery will be conducted by representatives of the Hormone Center in Cranberry, which specializes in the treatment of thyroid, menopause/andropause, adrenal fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and peak performance for professional and amateur athletes.

The Hormone Center, which was founded by former UPMC physician Dr. Lauren Loya, follows a core belief that the human body us built to heal itself and that the goal of treatment is to ensure the patient feels better, not only that their testing levels are in a good range.
