5-year-old girl struck, killed in parking lot at McCandless housing complex

A 5-year-old girl was struck and killed by a vehicle in a parking lot in McCandless on July 21, according to authorities.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Loujain Olleak, 5, of Wexford.

The girl was hit in a parking lot along Salisbury Court in McCandless, which is located in the Hickory Hills Apartment and Townhouse development, police said.

The incident occurred at about 7:50 p.m., according to the medical examiner.

Police said witnesses, police and paramedics performed CPR on the girl before she was transported to UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless where she was pronounced dead at 8:35 p.m.

McCandless police are investigating.
