The Carson Middle School seventh grade chorus performs during a school assembly on Nov. 11, 2022, to honor veterans. It was one of several programs and presentations throughout the North Allegheny School District to recognize the contribution and sacrifice of veterans.

Students across the North Allegheny School District had special programs and presentations on Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans Day. The events helped students learn the importance of those who served, according school Superintendent Dr. Melissa Friez.

“Veteran’s Day gives our students the opportunity to recognize our local veterans for their patriotism, bravery, sacrifices, and willingness to serve. Many of the veterans that visit our schools on this day are family members, which makes it even more special,” she said.
