This is a seasonal program that helps low-income households who earn less than $57,000. The service is available through April 14.

3 Shaler athletes sign on with colleges
Three Shaler Area High School students signed National Letters of Intent on Feb. 3 to continue their academic and athletic careers.
Alyssa DeLeonibus committed to Davis & Elkins College where she will continue her soccer career. She plans to study nursing.
Danielle Eshelman committed to the University of Delaware where she will continue to run cross country and track and field. She plans to study exercise science for physical therapy.
Ashley Venezia committed to California University of Pennsylvania where she will continue her soccer career. She plans to study criminal justice.
Take part in litter cleanup
Allegheny CleanWays and Friends of the Riverfront invite people to participate in self-guided litter pickups.
They will provide the necessary gear for safety.
The next litter kit distribution event will be 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 20 at the South Side Dog Park.

La Roche offers campus previews
La Roche University invites high school and transfer students and their families to experience campus during Preview Nights on Feb. 22-24.
The on-campus event provides opportunities for students to meet staff, hear from current students, explore majors and learn how to apply and pay for college. Registration is required at laroche.edu/previewnight.
Students can choose from three major-specific Preview Nights: Feb. 22 includes accounting, film, finance, graphic design, information technology, interior design, international management and marketing; Feb. 23 will cover biochemistry, biology, chemistry, child and family studies, computer science, criminal justice, engineering, exercise and sports science, pre-dental and math, among others; Feb. 24 will include communications, education, international studies and dance, among others.
Temperature screenings, face coverings and social distancing are required, and hand sanitizer stations are available at multiple locations.

Scholarships available to SSA seniors
Applications are available for scholarships from the Glenshaw Century Club for Shaler Area High School seniors.

Nonperishable items needed for food drive
Donations of nonperishable food items for the Shaler Area Backpack Initiative are accepted at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 66 Grant Ave., from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays.
The food program provides weekend meals to more than 100 children in kindergarten through eighth grade, dishing out easy-to-prep meals and single-serving snacks to ensure nutrition isn’t missed when kids are away from the classroom.
Financial donations can be made payable to Shaler Area School District with “Backpack Initiative” in the memo line and mailed to 1800 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116.
Women’s Business Network meetings set
The Cranberry Chapter of the Women’s Business Network meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7:30 a.m. in Cranberry United Presbyterian Church, 2662 Rochester Road, Cranberry.
