New hours at Hampton Community Library

Hampton Community Library announces new hours: 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Friday; 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The library is closed on Sunday, and will be Sept. 3-5 for Labor Day.

Activities and events at the library include:

• Card Club, 1 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays, featuring a game of 500 Bid or something new. Come out and show your skill. Teach someone a new game, or just enjoy time with friends, new and old.

• It’s a Wonder-Filled Morning drop-in storytime, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Sept. 13 and 15. Children can participate in stories and songs, “Investigate and Create,” parachute play and “Stay and Play” to wrap up the day.

• Friends N’at! at 11:15 a.m. Sept. 14, a 30- to 45-minute neurodivergent program designed to bring everyone of all abilities together to interact, investigate, create and most of all ,make friends at the library. No registration is required.

• Murder by the Book!: A Mystery Book Discussion about “The Survivors” by Jane Harper, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21. The group meets at the Rotary Pavilion in the summer, the shelter closest to the police station, municipal building and soccer fields. Everyone who is interested in great reads is invited to join. Call the library at 412-684-1098 to request a copy of the book.

• Betty’s Book Buzz Discussion Group, 1 p.m. Sept. 16: “Death on the Nile” by Agatha Christie. The group meets in the library. Everyone is invited to join. Call the library at 412-684-1098 to request a copy of the book.

• Cooks-N-Books: “Fall” for Autumn Dishes, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 22nd, Cooks-N-Books is a cookbook and food discussion group for people who love to cook. No real experience or culinary expertise is needed. The group meets in Great Room A in the Hampton Community Center.

Participants are asked to check out a cookbook, and then cook a dish to bring to the group for discussion, plus a copy of the recipe. Please note there is a $2 fee to cover the cost of supplies.
