Franklin Regional students rehearse a scene from their upcoming production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” A group will perform show selections at the Symphony East’s Feb. 13, 2020, meeting.

Students in the Franklin Regional spring production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” will perform selections from the show during the Symphony East program.

It will be at 10:30 a.m., Feb. 13 at the Westmoreland Country Club, 7100 Mellon Road in Penn Township. The event will begin with a fundraiser, followed by an 11:30 a.m. luncheon with the performance at 12:30 p.m.

The musical is based on the “coat of many colors” story from the Bible’s Book of Genesis. With only a few lines of spoken dialogue, nearly the entire show is sung. First presented as a 15-minute pop cantata in 1968, the show marked its 50th anniversary this past summer with a limited run at the London Palladium in England.

The cost is $40 per person and reservations must be made by Feb. 1 by calling 724-327-4864 or going to SymphonyEast.org/events.

The musical will be staged Feb. 27-29 and March 1 at the Franklin Regional Senior High School auditorium.
