It was a big day for more than 1,200 freshmen at Duquesne University on Tuesday.
Campus move-in day for the Class of 2026 saw students and families touring the campus, meeting new people and of course, lugging totes full of items into the residential halls.
The university hosted an outdoor movie, a speed-friending game and other events on the lawn at Rooney Field.
“We want to provide them with the same incredible experience that we enjoyed as new students at Duquesne,” orientation Director Zach Mansberry said.
This year’s orientation program, “Elevate Your Potential,” is expected to give first-year students the chance to connect with fellow Dukes, learn about campus resources and explore campus offerings.
“Our program is fully designed by students for students,” Mansberry said.
“With a spirit of reaching all students, our program has managed to constantly adapt to provide a comfortable and fun experience as students start their next chapters.”
